Sports clubs are a great way to get involved with helping Steps. We have collaborated with many clubs in the past and we are always appreciative of the time and help they can provide.

Leicester City in the Community
Leicester City in the Community (formerly known as LCFC Community Trust) has been collaborating with Steps since 2017. They are driven by core values of engage, inspire and empower, which they embed through togetherness, respect and pride. There is a home for everyone at Leicester City in the Community – inclusive practice underpins all that they do.
Steps's Lead Conductor (a committed Leicester City fan) approached the club to seek ways of working together, we were invited to participate in their project to develop, deliver and sustain sport and physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities across Leicestershire.
Together, we developed programmes for the Steps children to participate in, applying skills learnt during the task series. The coaching sessions became embedded in the mobility circuit as part of the conductive daily routine, with weekly sessions run by the coaches supported by the Steps team.
The children love the fun and games on offer from Sarah, Sarah 2, Dave, Phil, Tom and especially Patrick, a young inclusive practice coach with Cerebral Palsy, who acts as an excellent role model for the Steps children.
The coaches are part of the Steps family providing family activity days, attending events such as Christmas parties and inviting Steps children to football games at Leicester City's Stadium.
During the coronavirus outbreak, the coaches provided digital sessions for our groups. In December 2020 the community coaches decided to raise money for Steps through a 5k your way at King Power Stadium. They completed the distance (8 laps around the stadium) in 35 minutes.
We are very grateful for this collaboration and are looking forward to enhance this partnership in the future.
