Thank you to the Al-Rawi family for raising vital funds for Steps

Ayad and Myriam Al-Rawi's daughter Lina has attended Steps since she was 3 years old. Lina has benefitted from weekly sessions from Steps and after seeing the impact that Steps has had on their family, Ayad and Myriam decided to launch a crowdfunder to raise vital funds for Steps. Using the world's first social impact crowdfunding platform HeroCrowd they were able to raise £1100 for Steps.

Ayad created a beautiful video about Lina and Steps as part of their crowdfunding initiative in it he commented "Steps is very dear to our hearts, Lina our daughter was diagnosed from birth with a genetic disorder and Steps were excellent with us and really helped us out. They have done a fantastic job over the years, free lessons for children on a weekly basis and lots of advice and guidance for parents".

Indila Simandi Lead Conductor at Steps said "A huge thank you to everyone involved in Lina's fundraising campaign for Steps, it costs £220,000 each year to be able to continue our service and help many many families just like Lina's lovely family. Thank you so much again, your kind donation will help many more families to benefit from the service that Steps has to offer".

At Steps we don't receive any statutory funding and so we must raise all of the £220,000 we need each year through grants, fundraising and donations, the pandemic has had a massive impact on our income and this is why we are so grateful to families like Lina's for helping Steps by raising vital funds for us so we can continue to offer our free service to more families who so desperately need our help.

If you would like to get involved with Steps through fundraising, donating, volunteering or if you'd just like to find out more, please get in touch with our Centre and Volunteer Manager Janet Russell who would love to speak to you!
