It costs £220,000 a year to run our service and we rely solely on fundraising and grants to generate this income.
We are so grateful to those that fundraise for us and help us to continue providing vital support to our families.
Organise your own event
Putting on your own fundraising event is a great thing to do in your spare time and the results are so rewarding.
There are so many fundraising ideas you could do... in the past we have had people take on fitness challenges such as walking, running and cycling... we even had bouncing! Bake sales are a great fundraiser... everyone loves a cake! Bring-and-buy sales, open gardens, coffee mornings... the possibilities are endless.
Every penny raised really does make a massive difference to Steps and enables us to continue supporting families.
How we can support your event
We are humbled every day by the many people who give their time to fundraising; Steps simply would not be here without them. It is for this reason that we want to provide you with as much support as we can to help with your event.
Our team are experienced in many aspects of event management and fundraising so please feel free to talk you ideas through with one of us at the planning stage and we will give any advice and assistance that we can.
Planning is key when organising events - set a budget if you need one and stick to it. Another tip is to not be shy to ask - many businesses will be willing to sponsor an event in return for advertising, or they may be willing to donate prizes for competitions or raffles.
We can also help you promote your event via our many social media channels, newsletters and website so please make sure you tell us all about it!
How to collect funds
The easiest way for you to collect funds during your fundraising is via a Just Giving page. Just Giving is a secure portal which collects funds and sends them through to Steps. You can set up your own event via Just Giving and customise your Just Giving page with your story and pictures!
